Director of Development and Alumni Relations
Willamette University’s Atkinson Graduate School of Management
July 27, 2008 (edit 2009)

I am currently the Director of Development and Alumni Relations at Willamette University’s Atkinson Graduate School of Management.  This position is a great fit for both my skills and my goal to help educate people.

I work out of the MBA facility in downtown Portland (in the Pearl District next to Powell’s Books).  My primary responsibility is building relationships with Alumni, business owners, companies, and charitable donors.  I also have the opportunity to travel both nationally and internationally.

As things move forward if you have any questions related to Willamette’s Atkinson Graduate School of Management, the Early Career MBA Program or the MBA for Professions Program please contact me.

Willamette University’s Atkinson Graduate School of Management was ranked this year by Forbes as the "Best Business Schools 2009" and by the Princeton Review as a "Top 15 Program for Preparing Students for Marketing."  It is the first school in the world to be accredited by both the AACSB (for Business) and NASPAA (for government and not for profit administration) and is one of only two schools in the world to hold that distinction.

On a historical note, Willamette University is the oldest University in the Western United States, founded in 1842, seventeen years before Oregon become a state on February 14, 1859.

A chinese dragonI was recently a graduate student at Maitripa College in Advanced Buddhist Studies (while I was teaching at PSU).  It's a four year program of  both study and practice.  Part of the curriculum requirements include learning Classical Tibetan.  The fourth year consists of Tantra training under the direction of  Yangsi Rinpoche.

Maitripa is a new school and recently earned accreditation and state degree granting authority in Oregon. They are currently working towards regional and national accreditation. I wish them the best of luck on their continued success and congratulations to everyone on their hard work.

Maitripa is located in downtown Portland, Oregon.

One of my joys in life is reading. I’m pretty varied in what I’ll pick up but I do focus primarily on non-fiction, economics, and Buddhism. I try to keep up on the best sellers as there's some inherent value in knowing the current gestalt.
